Welcome to KMKyoga

KMKyoga uses yoga to help people better understand their bodies and regulate their nervous system.

This practice empowers us to be more authentic, effective, and satisfied with our life experiences. It’s beneficial for everyone, but especially relevant for people who are neurodiverse.

  • Any body can participate fully. “If you can breathe, you can do yoga.” (Sri Desikacar)
  • Techniques are applicable to, and useful for, life off the mat.
  • Benefits occur immediately and also accrue over time.

KMKyoga is a great fit for you if you want to actively pursue wellness and discover tools that are useful for your body and your life.

I'm Kath.

Like Patanjali, my core value is agency with kindness. Yoga gave me a way to understand my unique neurodiversity and explore self-care that regulates (is kind to) my nervous system. Yoga taught me how to balance kindness and agency in my body in ways that make life easier and more enjoyable. 

I see my work as an adventure we take together, learning from one another and exploring our differences and similarities for the purpose of body/somatic awareness. 

I was lucky to come to yoga during the householder phase of my life (age 49 years), the age range when my tradition emphasizes breathwork (pranayama). Breath is the key to understanding what the body needs, wants, and knows. My students report using pranayama in difficult situations, yes, but also how breath awareness has increased overall satisfaction with their lives. Breathwork also makes meditation easier and enjoyable.

I look forward to sharing this journey with you.
